Testimonials
Thinking about starting therapy can feel daunting, however you've come this far so that’s a start!
My name is Lyndsey and I have been in counselling practice since 2017. I am a qualified Counsellor based in Berkshire. I am dedicated to helping others and providing the right environment for you to be able to off load your fears or worries. Or just to talk about what's on your mind.
My counselling work with young people and adults covers many areas including anxiety, low mood, low self-esteem, stress, depression, self-image, and relationship problems. I offer my clients a warm, calm, non-judgmental space in which to explore your issues.
I am a person-centred counsellor offering a safe and confidential space free of judgement and criticism. We will work together, collaboratively discussing and examining the problems or difficulties that you are facing. Having a dedicated time to focus on yourself in an environment that offers insight and understanding can lead to a greater knowledge of what stops you from feeling at your very best. The aim is to help you achieve a new perspective, understanding and clarity that will help you feel at peace with the situations that surround you. Helping you to move forwards and make the decisions necessary.
I hold a recognised qualification in Therapeutic Counselling. As part of my commitment to my clients I attend regular supervision to ensure that our work together is ethical and to ensure I am offering you the best possible help.

I offer a free 15 minute telephone consultation at a time that suits you. Following this, we would engage in a more in depth assessment.
Initially I will go through an assessment together with you, its not as difficult as it sounds, its just a way to make sure I am clear on the areas you would like to address and to make sure that I understand your reasons for starting your counselling process, to ensure you are getting the help and support in all the areas you wish to address. This also provides the perfect opportunity for you to ask me any questions you may have and to express what you need from me and to understand how I can help you.
The supportive counselling I offer covers many areas including, emotional wellbeing issues, anxiety, depression and more complex mental health issues. My experience covers the impact of negative childhood experiences, relationship breakdowns, trauma and loss. I provide a private space to reflect, make sense of experiences, to be heard not judged and tools to help you feel calmer, cope better and make changes. My safe supportive approach enables exploration of your needs so you can begin to feel understood, more confident and resourceful in moving forward.
Counselling isn't about giving you solutions or advice, but empowering you to make your own changes.
I hold a BSc in Human Biology from Loughborough University and a Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling and in Children and Young People. I am a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and as such abide by their Ethical Framework.
Please see - www.bacp.co.uk/ethical-framework for more information.
I am fully insured with a malpractice, professional and public liability insurance indemnity of £10,000,000 and I hold an enhanced DBS check.
I have experience working with people of all cultures and ethnicities from teenagers to adults. I work as a counsellor in a school setting and in private practice. I provide a safe and confidential environment.
